The Troon Men’s Shed meeting on Monday 10th March at 2pm is our first meeting at our new meeting venue:
The Lighthouse Christian Centre, Ailsa Rd, Troon KA10 6DB
Our meeting attendance has outgrown the capacity of the cafe area at the Scout Centre where we previously held our meetings, and the new venue will comfortably accomodate us. Our thanks go to the Trustees of The Lighthouse Christian Centre for allowing us to use the building for our meetings.
At the meeting on 10th March, Dr Graeme Eddolls, a postdoctoral researcher at Syracuse University Center for Gravitational Wave Astronomy & Astrophysics will give a talk about how a collaboration of 1200+ international scientists, including some on the West Coast of Scotland, build scientific instruments to detect gravitational waves. No prior knowledge of physics is required.
All men are welcome to come along if they want to find out more about Troon Men’s Shed, or you can join up via this link: https://troonmensshed.wordpress.com/join/
