Ship Building

We are currently constructing a wooden Viking ship for Friends of Dundonald Castle to use at their children’s events. The vessel has no bottom allowing children to get in and lift it up and walk about with it.

The design proved to be a bit of a challenge as the boat needed to be light so that children can lift and carry it, as well as needing to be robust. Our members have risen to the challenge and the ship build is progressing well and it will soon be ready to be launched.

We have a number of other community projects that are currently being planned, so if you would like to get involved then become a member.

Membership is free and is open to any man aged 18 or over who lives in Troon or the surrounding areas, and who supports our purpose. Apply to join online at this link, or to find out more come along to one of our weekly social meetings at The Lighthouse Christian Centre, Ailsa Road, Troon KA10 6DB which take place every Monday from 2pm to 3.30pm with tea, coffee and biscuits available.
